Our food drive for Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard pantry has drawn to a close and parent and student volunteers have driven all of the donated items to the pantry to unload and sort them for disbursement. For the last month, we have been focusing on items that benefit community children:
- Half-day classrooms gathered a total of 240 boxes of macaroni and cheese!
- All-day classrooms got 569 granola bars together!
- Elementary classrooms raised a total of 4,407 diapers!
Way to go, BMS community! Upper elementary children and some parent volunteers delivered these items to MHC on the afternoon of December 17th and helped organize them in the warehouse.
Stay tuned for more information on the PAC Family Service Project to benefit MHC this spring! Our upper elementary students will also continue to work at the pantry throughout second semester in small groups.
We have wrapped our arms around Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard this school year in gratitude for all they do for our community. This has included the 5K, Early Childhood Coin Drive, whole-school Food Drive, and service learning work. Thank you, BMS families, for your support in these efforts!
