Early Childhood Coin Drive Recap

Posted in ,

The Early Childhood classrooms completed a coin drive to benefit Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard in November. Families contributed loose change and the coins were used to learn about currency, then donated to the Hub.

Classrooms learned about the concept of food insecurity, then kindergarteners sorted coins by denomination and made piles equivalent to a dollar. They learned about tally marks to keep track of the dollars they were building to find the total: $410!

Any international coins collected were separated and made into a coin matching work for the classrooms to share.
