ANNA WEGERSON, LEAD TEACHER
Anna Wegerson is thrilled to be the Lead teacher of the Magnolia classroom, where she has taught since 2015. Anna hails from Chicago, IL where she attended Montessori from preschool through 8th grade. She holds a BA in Theatre from Earlham College, and received her certification in Montessori Early Childhood Education from Seton Montessori Institute in 2013. She completed her Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Indiana University in 2021.
Anna and her partner Alex are the proud parents of daughter, Eleanor (turning 3 in November), and beagle dog Bailey. They are beyond excited to be expecting their second child this coming October. Anna adores this amazing and supportive community of parents, children, and educators and is happy to be residing in beautiful Bloomington, Indiana.
OLIVIA EVANS, ASSISTANT TEACHER
Olivia joined the BMS faculty in 2019, and is incredibly grateful to be a part of this community. In early childhood, Olivia attended a small, rural Montessori school which laid the groundwork for her educational experience. She has studied sociology at both Earlham College and Indiana University, and has worked at various summer camps and youth programs over the years. Olivia is passionate about art and creative expression as a path to social/emotional wellness, and is pursuing this focus in her teaching career. She is also passionate about nature education, and loves exploring the biodiversity of our world with the kids. Outside of work, Olivia can be found working on her own art projects and hanging out with her cat and gecko.
ALEX JOHNSON, ASSISTANT TEACHER
Alex Johnson graduated from Indiana University in 2023 with a BA in French. She is thrilled to have returned to her Montessori roots (having attended Montessori preschool) to work at BMS. She's worked with children in a variety of countries and capacities and is passionate about nurturing students’ growth. In her free time, she loves thrifting, antiques, traveling, and being creative!
PHOEBE CROXTON
Phoebe holds a BS in Nutrition Science from Bastyr University. She has over 20 years of experience working with children in various capacities and remains deeply committed to supporting their growth and development. Phoebe believes that each child is unique and strives to provide the individualized care, resources, and encouragement every child needs to thrive.
She has a lifelong connection to Montessori values and principles. Phoebe attended Montessori school from toddler age through third grade, and both her mother and paternal grandmother were Montessori educators. She is thrilled to join the Magnolia classroom this year and looks forward to being part of a nurturing and inspiring learning environment.
