BMS partnered with the Bloomington Community Orchard on a table at the Lotus World Bazaar at Fairview Elementary this year. This is a community event that brings organizations together to teach and provide fun activities for Monroe County fourth graders and families. The event was on April 3rd and 4th, with 850 fourth graders visiting in waves on Friday and it was open to the public on Saturday. Our nine sixth graders were outstanding volunteers, making pollination-themed displays for the table and helping host the fourth graders throughout April 3rd! We also had several parent volunteers join the effort, helping facilitate an activity planting sunflowers for the orchard–thank you, parents!

The Lotus Bazaar was a great event that happens each year. There were many hands-on activities for kids and live world music and performances. I highly recommend checking it out this year if you’ve never been!
Thank you to the Lotus Foundation for giving us the opportunity to participate!
