Community Gathers at Annual PAC Fall Fest

Posted in

Thank you to everyone who came out for Fall Fest on October 25th! The event took place at Fowler Pumpkin Patch, immediately following the Fall Fun Run. With the help of many volunteers, attendees enjoyed snacks, had their faces painted, pet the animals and took hayrides with Fowler, took home pumpkins, did crafts and more! The rain mostly held off until clean-up time, which was great. The Fowler cows were particularly curious this year and called to kids over the fence.

The sixth graders held their third annual pie-in-the-face auction to raise money for their Chicago trip. Bidders competed for the right to pie teacher Sam Cusack and the sixth grade students with whipped cream “pies”. The activity raised $2800 to help pay for travel expenses. Sixth graders will go to Chicago in December as part of their architecture research and to visit museums connected to their studies such as the natural history and science museums. This has been an annual tradition for more than 20 years.

This event would not be possible without our many parent volunteers that help make it happen. The Parent Action Committee works hard to plan the event and gather volunteers for day-of tasks. This is an event by the BMS community, for the BMS community and we are so grateful for everyone who participated! Parent volunteers make the world go ‘round around here. For more information on how you can get involved, check out the Volunteers section of each newsletter!
