Forty Days of Peace
Our annual Forty Days of Peace Celebration is beginning, in honor of the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The classrooms will mark forty consecutive days on which teachers will suggest an Act of Peace through which children can honor Dr. King’s legacy. The teachers will also share with children a daily quote from a world peacemaker.
We hope you can continue this celebration at home on days when school is not in session.
Jan. 21 Act of Peace: Honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in a meaningful way. You could volunteer for a non-profit, learn about his life and work or do another social justice activity.
It isn’t enough to talk about peace; one must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it; one must work at it. — Eleanor Roosevelt
